A reconstruction of the massive ziggurat of Ur – it still stands almost intact, from the 20 th century B.C .  About forty feet high.  Forty centuries old.

These awesome Sumerian edifices for more elevated star observations provoked the story of the Tower of Babel, a temple-ziggurat dedicated to Jupiter (Marduk) at neighbouring Babylon.  The sacred astrology of this region is legendary and evidently extremely ancient, although popularly ascribed to the later Chaldeans.

Arabic tradition says Abraham was a princely astrologer who found a new wisdom and was told by God to find a new home in Canaan, the Promised Land.  Presumably Abraham was blessed with a vision of the Gods invisible and within, closer to know, only too bold to be spoken among those who know everything already
